The word “Yoga” comes from an ancient Sanskrit word that means “to yoke” or “to unite”. Fitting, for the practice of yoga is used to yoke together and unite the mind, the body and the soul.

Physically, yoga improves the circulatory, endocrine and nervous systems of an individual, helping the body to have better-equipped defenses against disease, acceleration of recovery time should disease settle, increase flexibility, promote ease of bodily movement and develop an overall feeling of wellness.

Spiritually, yoga is used to reveal one’s true self and to liberate this self from the endless karmic cycles of birth and death, to successfully unite with the supreme, universal spirit, Brahman.
